Views of ScarboroughNorth Sands Lodge provides not only the perfect seaside holiday venue but also an ideal base to explore the rugged North East Coast line and the North Yorkshire Moors. There are many ancient and majestic sites such as Whitby Abbey, Rieveulx Abbey and Kirkham Priory together with three imposing castles at Scarborough, Helmsley and Pickering. There are famous historic houses to visit like Burton Agnes Hall, Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall all within a short journey.

For those more active there are many scenic walks to suit all abilities, and nothing could be better than taking in the dramatic views of the coast from the cliff top at Ravenscar's coastal centre, or the picturesque woods and streams of Forge Valley. The glory of the North Yorkshire Moors are yours to explore including the 8000 acres of Dalby Forrest with so much to do and see, you really don't know what you're missing, but if you do want to stay close to base then Scarborough is divided into two bays, North Bay and South Bay by castle headland. The castle is most certainly worth a visit and provided stunning views over both bays and bosts an impressive history dating back as far as 1135. It is said that the infamous King Richard the III admired the views from Scarborough Castle so much that he still returns today.

North Bay with its golden beaches including the superb Peasholm Park and gardens, offering scenic strolls along cliff tops or boating on the extensive lakes. The world famous Sealife Centre, with its three distinctive pyramids enthrals everyone with a magical display of sea life from around the British coastline, with feeding displays, narration and seal sanctuary.

Alexander Bowls Club, the centre provides, 8 rink indoor flat green (40 yards), 2 outdoor crown greens and during the holiday season provides services and entertainment, including coaching and bowl drives.

For your evening entertainment, there are many pubs, clubs and restaurants offering the widest selection of foods and attractions for all ages. Scarborough has a varied and diverse selection of places to eat out. With culinary selection ranging from the traditional fish and chips to the finest restaurant cuisine you can be guaranteed a great eating experience for all the family. To round the evening off why not enjoy good entertainment at one of our cinema's or the theatre like the Steven Joseph Theatre, home to the world renowned playwright Alan Aykbourn, with many of his plays premiering at the theatre, located in the centre of Scarborough the theatre also provides back stage tours, restaurant and theatre shop.
